ProfitSonar Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-09

ProfitSonar is a browser extension that helps you track your own LinkedIn marketing and outreach, and a website (profitsonar.com) where you manage your account and plan and see reports on your progress. The extension works from the addresses (URLs) of LinkedIn pages, plus information you type or click yourself. This policy covers both.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider. We use your email to sign you in and to send you confirmation and password-reset codes.

  • The address of your active LinkedIn tab, so the side panel can show information when that page is a LinkedIn profile. If you grant access for linkedin.com, the panel sees the address as you move between LinkedIn pages, but only while it's open. Query strings and tracking parameters are removed.

  • Profiles you ping or track:

    • the profile URL
    • a label you give the profile, which you type yourself or fill in from the profile URL with the ↻ button (it may be the person's name)
    • when you pinged it (intentional visits)
    • when you started tracking it
    • the category, the date you connected and the date of your last contact, which you enter yourself
    • your notes
    • the pipeline and stage you assign, with the time of each stage change
  • Billing, if you buy a paid plan: payments are handled by Stripe. We store your plan, its status and renewal date, and the Stripe customer and subscription ids. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them.

  • Messages you send us through the website's contact form: your name, email address and message.

ProfitSonar never reads names or any other content from LinkedIn's pages. The only name it may hold is a label you set yourself. The ↻ suggestion works it out from the profile URL alone, and only when you click.

Browser history (optional "soft visits" feature)

If you turn on Soft visits in Settings, ProfitSonar asks for the browser's history permission. It then reads your browser's history only for LinkedIn profile pages (linkedin.com/in/...), and only while the side panel or Settings page is open. This is used to show when you last visited a profile.

  • History data is used only to show you that date. It is not stored by ProfitSonar, not synced to any backend, and not shared with anyone.
  • Page titles that the browser returns along with history entries are ignored.
  • Turning the feature off in Settings removes the permission.

The website

  • Sign-in cookies. Signing in on the website sets cookies that keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary and used for nothing else. The website sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
  • Reports on the website (your dashboard and contact pages) are built from the same account data listed above, and only you can see them.
  • Visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you across sites.

What ProfitSonar does not do

  • Read or copy any content from LinkedIn pages, such as names, profiles, posts, messages, connection status or metrics.
  • Insert anything into, or change, LinkedIn's pages.
  • Send any request to LinkedIn, or automate any action on LinkedIn.
  • Keep any copy of your browsing history, or watch sites other than LinkedIn.

Where it is stored

  • In your ProfitSonar account. Your settings and the profiles you ping or track are stored in ProfitSonar's database, hosted by Supabase, and sent there over HTTPS. Each account's data is only accessible to that account. You can export it at any time from the Settings page.
  • In your browser, only your sign-in session (in the extension's storage, and in the website's cookies if you sign in there). Soft-visit history is never stored or sent anywhere.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties. These service providers process data on our behalf, only to provide their service:

  • Supabase hosts the database and the sign-in service.
  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Stripe processes payments for paid plans.
  • Resend delivers account emails (sign-up and reset codes, security notices) and support emails.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Limited Use

ProfitSonar uses user data only to provide its single purpose: helping you track your own LinkedIn marketing and outreach progress. Our use of this data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

  • Settings → Delete account (in the extension or on the website) permanently deletes your account and all of its data straight away. A paid plan is cancelled first. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
  • Settings → Clear all deletes all of your contacts but keeps the account. You can also delete contacts or notes one at a time.
  • Uninstalling the extension removes your sign-in session from the browser. Your account stays until you delete it.
